Counseling Services and Fees

Initial Phone Consultations (Complimentary)

Individual Sessions ($135)

Initial consultations are meet-and-greets to discuss your needs and ensure a good fit. They last about 25 minutes and are free of charge.
Each individual therapy session is 55 minutes long and held either in-person at my office or via HIPAA-compliant video call. If meeting via telehealth, you will receive a link before your session.

Insurance Billing

If you are using insurance, please let me know during your consultation session. I highly recommend that you contact your insurance company to confirm your benefits as you will be responsible if there is any difference in reimbursement.

I am in-network with the following insurance companies:
Aetna
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
Carelon Behavioral Health
Cigna
Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey
Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania - Virtual National Network
Oscar
Oxford
Quest Behavioral Health
Select Health - Colorado
United Healthcare

Out Of Network (OON) Options

I am out-of-network with all other companies, including Medicaid. I do not participate in Single Case Agreements with insurance companies.

If you would like to pursue insurance reimbursement for out-of-network services, I can provide emailed, itemized receipts upon request for submission to insurance companies for consideration of third-party reimbursement. Note that your insurance will need to accept “out of network” providers. Since health plans vary widely, contact your insurance provider to determine what the out-of-network benefits are for behavioral health/counseling services.

No Surprises Act

A note about submitting insurance claims:

In order to submit an insurance claim:

1. I am required to give you a psychiatric diagnosis, and this diagnosis will be part of your medical record.
2. Many carriers require that I provide a detailed treatment plan containing your symptoms, reasons for treatment, your progress, and information that describes the seriousness of your condition.
3. This information is stored in electronic databases that are accessed by other insurance companies. Once this information is disclosed, I cannot guarantee your confidentiality.
4. Your insurance company can dictate your treatment by choosing how many sessions and what type of treatment they will cover.
Please contact your health insurance plan at the number on your health insurance ID card or the Colorado Division of Insurance with questions.
